May 5th-30th--SBAC State Testing:  SBAC State Testing will begin in May.  Please CLICK HERE for the schedule.  As a reminder please avoid missing days during testing and if doctor appointments need to be scheduled we ask that you do your best to schedule them after 10:30 am.  It is greatly appreciated. 

May 4th-9th Spirit Wear Shop:  The PTA's spirit wear shop is open on line for the last time for the year.  Get your uniforms early for next year.  

May 6th--Dress Like Your Teacher Day:  For Teacher Appreciation Week, our Student Council members thought it would be great to honor each teacher by dressing like them.  Maybe it’s something you add to your child’s uniform or maybe you want to go all out and create a mini teacher version.  We’d love to see all students participate.  

May 8th & 9th Aladdin Kids Performance:  YaYa’s Performance Group will be showcasing Aladdin Kids on Thursday at 6:00 pm and Friday at 6:00 and 7:00 pm here in the Burcham auditorium.  You can get your tickets by clicking on the flyer.  Burcham Aladdin kids flyer.jpg 

May 15th--PTA Meeting:  The PTA has changed their next meeting to May 15th at 6:30 pm in the library.  As usual, treats and child care will be provided.    

May 19th--Spring Concert:  If your child participates in our instrumental or vocal program the Spring Concert will be held on May 19th at 6:00 PM in the auditorium.  

May 20th--District Minimum Day:  This is a district wide minimum day for elementary schools.  Please be mindful that pick up is at 1:00 pm therefore the playground will close at 2:00 pm.  Thank you.  

May 20th--Burcham Town Hall Meeting:  We are holding a Town Hall Meeting to discuss our GATE Program here at Burcham.  Please join us at 6:00 pm on Tuesday, May 20th in Room 3105 to voice your opinion and hear about the Whole School Certification Model.  

May 26th--Memorial Day Holiday:  Please note that there is no school on Monday, May 26th in observance of Memorial Day.  Students will have a Memorial Day Spirit Day on Friday the 23rd, where they can wear red, white and blue to school.  

End of Year Activities:

• May 23rd--Water Fight vs. Staff:  Students can participate in a water fight versus staff after school as our last APEX incentive. (Please note there has been a change to the date).  Students will get a free Kona Ice cup so come early to avoid long lines.  More details to follow.  

• June 5th--Talent Show:  Details to come regarding times and performances. 

• June 6th--PTA Carnival:  Join us as a way to celebrate the close of the year.  If you can volunteer please sign up BY CLICKING HERE 

• June 11th--5th Grade Promotion Ceremony:  Promotion will start at 8:30 am.  Details to come. Kindergarten students will be performing for parents following our ceremony at around 10:30 am.  Information will come via classroom teachers.  

• June 12th--Last Day of School:  Students will be dismissed at 1:00 pm.
